MEGAN GILL
A BUDDING FEMALE FILMMAKER
Megan's stories center the female experience, sharing fictional tales based in reality about the everyday things women deal with. Her debut film, A Broadway Body, was birthed out of her own struggles to feel good in her skin as both an actor and a human being. Her battle with orthorexia and body dysmorphia were crippling throughout her collegiate years, and it took a global pandemic for her to emerge from the dark cloud and start to examine that what she'd been struggling through wasn't just in her head - it was a serious disorder. A Broadway Body was based on multiple women's experiences in college musical theatre programs and went on to debut at LA Short International Film Festival in Los Angeles, California in July 2023.
Megan then went on to write her next film, "Through" about a woman moving through her own model of the seven stages of grief after a devastating breakup, something women face time and again. She explored what it is to have to pick up the pieces and forge ahead, rebuilding her life for herself on her own terms. "Through" went on to also debut at LA Shorts International Film Festival in Los Angeles, California in July 2025.
Megan is currently in development for several other film projects based on the female expereince, and cannot wait to share more as she knows more!
